am i good enough
for the ones around me
am i a good laugh
pretending to be free

did dead poets suffer
the same burden of loneliness
did dead poets hunger
of surviving this foolishness

the past had been unkind
been teaching me the lies
been haunting me to find
things in me to despise

but pain has a way of waking
the sleeping truth hidden inside
my heart has been bleeding
enough tears to cleanse my pride

i have come full circle
realizing the truth beneath the lie
need to break the cycle
of not leaving the wall when i'm a fly
